You may be waiting for a green light from Boris, but that doesn’t mean you should stop dreaming and planning future holidays in Turkey. Since the pandemic began, global tourism and economies have suffered no end. Understandably, the UK is keen to keep money at home and push ‘staycations’ to support local businesses, just as Turkey is eager and waiting for you to return.
Thankfully, as more of the world gets vaccinated and virus numbers deplete, the chances of the UK easing travel restrictions increase – so there is hope for that holiday in Turkey later this year, and certainly next. Turkey is open for tourism, and many hotels, restaurants and attractions in Fethiye’s resorts are up and running, serving the influx of domestic tourists and other international guests.
An exciting new attraction this year is the opening of the new Fethiye “Skywalk” cable car. This fabulous project has been over 25 years in the planning and has cost over 350 million Turkish Lira. Anyone that has already been to Oludeniz will be aware of the paragliders taking off from the lofty summit of Babadag to pull tricks with their passengers and land on the Oludeniz beachfront. Previously, a lengthy jeep safari up the rocky mountain road was necessary, but now it takes just 16 minutes to rise to the 1700m summit in the luxury of an eight-seater cable car from the base just above Oludeniz bay. At the top, visitors are greeted with “wow” views over the bay and islands, plus there’s a growing number of restaurants and amenities ideal for a sunset meal and to take in the view. The prices of a return trip start at just 80 TL (c£6.50), so it’s affordable for most and already attracting tourists to the region.

Hamzi Villa is located near Ruken Villa and another of our new 2021 rentals collection. It is a modern triplex holiday home with four bedrooms sleeping eight. Tucked away in a picturesque elevated part of Ovacik, the property boasts fabulous mountain and valley views and is just a 5-minutes drive from the bright lights and action of Hisaronu and 10 from the beach. Fethiye town can be reached in 20-minutes, and the new Skywalk cable car is a couple of minutes down the road.
The grounds of Hamzi Villa are screened for privacy and meticulously maintained. There is a good-sized private pool and ample sunbathing space for those that enjoy topping up the tan.
The interior is spacious and contemporary, with an open-plan ground floor homing a modern kitchen, dining and lounge with large double doors leading to a terrace overlooking the pool.

Impressive Berzan Villa is Hamzi and Ruken’s neighbouring villa, and it again sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Berzan is another perfect holiday home for rent in Ovacik that’s close enough to the resort centre to be near all the action, yet far enough away to soak in the refreshing mountain breeze and enjoy a little downtime with the views when you wish.
This triplex villa is newly built and modern throughout. It is of a similar design to the others mentioned, with a ground floor boasting a spacious open-concept living room and kitchen leading out to a spectacular dining terrace overlooking the pool and kids pool.
